Brigita Krasauskaite's textile practice explores the intersection of women's place within culture and the universal language of geometry. Across civilizations, geometry has offered a means of expressing the ineffable—a visual language through which humanity has sought to understand the rhythms of nature, the sacred, and our shared existence.

Inspired by the intangible and the language of abstraction, Krasauskaite transforms these ideas into woven world. Existing between fine art, design, and architecture, her textiles become spaces where the visible and the invisible meet, giving material form to ideas that transcend language.

Building upon contemporary explorations of pattern, asymmetry, and spatial perception, Krasauskaite's compositions evoke movement, depth, vibration, and light. Each work is conceived not simply as a decorative object but as an immersive environment that transforms the space around it, whether experienced as a monumental textile on the wall or as a handwoven carpet beneath one's feet.

Central to her practice is the conviction that art belongs within everyday life. Through her philosophy of "art into the industry," she challenges the traditional hierarchy between fine art and functional design, elevating the textile from background to presence. Her rugs invite interaction not only through sight but also through touch, encouraging a physical and emotional dialogue between the viewer, the object, and the surrounding architecture.

Historically, rugs carried rich symbolic narratives, communicating identity, belief, and memory through woven forms. While much of this visual language has faded under the pressures of mass production and consumer culture, Krasauskaite reimagines the rug as a contemporary vessel for meaning. Each textile becomes a meditation on material, form, and human experience—an artwork that can be lived with as intimately as it can be contemplated.

Born in Kaunas, Lithuania, Brigita Krasauskaite received her formal training at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, where she earned a master’s degree in Textile Design and Fine Art. Her multidisciplinary practice spans textiles, painting and curatorial work, united by an enduring exploration of nature, culture, and the invisible forces that connect them.
